BIBLETRUTHONLINE.COM Are You Good Enough?? PART 1 Question: Do you think that you are good enough to get into heaven? Matt 5:20 20 "For I say to you, that unless your righeousness exceeds righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven." The Lord instructed the Israelites (and all of us) that if you want to have eternal life then you must adhere to the ten commandments. If YOU break ANY of the commandments even ONCE then YOU DIE! Deut 5:7-21
7 Thou shalt have none other gods before Me.
8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me,
10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love Me and keep my commandments.
11 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain.
12 Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee.
13 Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work:
14 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.
15 And remember that thou was a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.
16 Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
17 Thou shalt not kill.
18 Neither shalt thou commit adultery.
19 Neither shalt thou steal.
20 Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour.
21 Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour's wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour's house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour's. Have you ever broken any of these commandments EVEN ONCE? You have?? YOU'RE DEAD!
Question: Are you good enough to get into heaven? Answer: NO! If you and I are not getting into heaven then what's the point? Let us answer that right now: Matt 19: 16-17
16 And, behold, one came and said unto Him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And He said unto him, Why do you call me good? No one is good but One, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. NOTE: ** You cannot call Jesus good unless you call Him God! ** Matt 25: 30-34 & 41
30 "And cast you the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
31 When the Son of man shall come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory:
32 And before Him shall be gathered all nations: and He shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33 And He shall set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
41 Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from Me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:" What is the meaning of life? There is a limited amount of time to form a relationship with your Creator! Question: Are you good enough to get into heaven? Answer: Wrong question. The question should be: Does Jesus KNOW YOU? Luke 13:25-28 25 "When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open for us,' and He will answer and say to you, 'I do not know you, where are you from,' 26 "then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.' 27 "But He will say, "I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.' 28 "There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out." ** Either you're invited into heaven if He knows you and if He doesn't know you... you're BANISHED! ** Do you now realize how to get into heaven? OK! Question: How do I begin to form a relationship with Jesus so that He will know me? (Great question!) Answer: Matt 7: 7-8
7 "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened."
ASK Him and you shall find Him. KNOCK and the door will be opened to you. But. . . YOU HAVE TO SEEK HIM! & YOU HAVE TO ASK HIM!! Remember: In the verses (Matt 7:7-8), Jesus does not say knock, open the door and then come in...He says: KNOCK. He will open the door. You're job is to open the Bible, and His job is to teach you. You have to ask Him, and He will provide the answers. THESE ARE THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF FORMING A RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS SO THAT HE WILL KNOW YOU! Back to New Testament Truth>>
